Armando is a member of a long-established Brazilian ranching family. His brothers include Juan and Julio Chevez. The family has existed in a symbiotic sort of relationship with the De La Cruz brothers for centuries. However, when he met Virginia Jansen and her young daughter, Colby, he knew he had to be with them. His father told him he would bring shame to the De La Cruz family if he married Virginia. Armando didn't care, and married Virginia anyway. However, he died before he had a chance to adopt Colby as his daughter. He had two children with Virginia, Paul and Ginny.
